Promesas Cumplidas – Promises Kept

All American and Mexican citizens deserve safety, security, and prosperity. A secure border is essential to making that a reality. Border security is not just a national priority—it is a shared responsibility that President Trump and President Sheinbaum are addressing head on.

On February 3, 2025, President Trump and President Sheinbaum reached an agreement to delay proposed U.S. tariffs by enhancing border security. As part of the deal, President Sheinbaum committed to increasing existing security by deploying 10,000 National Guard troops to the border to combat drug trafficking, especially fentanyl, human smuggling and indocumented migration.

About Promesas Cumplidas

Promesas Cumplidas, a project of Alliance of Mexicans and Americans (ALMA), is dedicated to enhancing crossborder security and strengthening the U.S.-Mexico relationship. While the Mexican government has made significant strides in securing the border, these efforts often go unrecognized or underreported in the U.S.. Our mission is to bridge this gap by providing timely news, updates, and analysis, ensuring that both Mexicans and Americans have a clear and accurate understanding of ongoing security initiatives and cooperation at the border.
